Stretchy and texture-rich, this infinity scarf is created within all the hours I spent on public transit during fall 2019.
Stiff and contain in its own way, this scarf is created within my laughter and the alone time I spent with myself during the quarantine fall 2020.
The knitting began from a conversation I had with my friends in ECUAD's Industrial Design Studio over lunch. We realized there are a lot of knitters in the campus, but can't make the time for knitting. So we decided to turn knitting as a collaborative activity. This is the result of the knit for a period of a year (fall2019 - spring2020), the knitted piece remain at the studio today.
This knitting piece is created with a linear knitting machine, which is also my first attempt on trying out the machine (2018). The process took less than half an hour, and the pattern is randomly generated since I could visualized the result in a few actions.
My first ever knitting pieces (2015) with the help of my grandmother, she is the one who opened the door of knitting to me, When I wore them I think of the origin of knitting (the heritage of patterns and skills) and my own origin (what I have received from my family as I grew up into who I am now.)
